The Midwife’s Confession
I just finished #4 this evening and I will be beginning this one soon; however, I may end up stalling and waiting to start it on our trip. I’ve got a lot to do between now and Friday, anyway.
The Name of the Wind was pretty good. It was recommended to me on the basis of being similar to Harry Potter. That would be a lie. They are only similar in the facts that they contain magic and a school which teaches magic. The overall story is much darker, and more of a traditional fantasy epic. It was also extremely long, and not in the “I can’t EVER put this down! EVER!” kind of way. The sad part is that it really leaves you hanging, so that means that I want to read the next book…I’m just wary of the mixed reviews and the fact that it is huge and may not be worth lugging around…I may end up borrowing the husband’s kindle for it.
I still haven’t decided if it will even stay on my to-read list or not. I’m going to try reading a few books in between and if I still want to read it, after the break time, I’ll get from the library.
